Tolumnia flower spike

The flower spike managed to break free from the leaf and I can't wait to see this guy bloom again. This is perhaps the healthiest of my tolumnias and the most moisture tolerant. From my observations; all the Popokis are amazingly moisture tolerant. My other tolumnias are pretty much dead.

Repotted all my orchids.

Spent Friday and Saturday nights repotting all my orchids with Aussie-Gold and reused my Dyna-Rok.
I bought two bags from a place that I think is in Ohio. cost a lot but I wanted to spoil my orchids. At least I hope my orchids will like the new medium. I was happy to see the Dendrobium Thyrsiflorum had healthy roots. I was generally happy to see the roots doing well for the plants except a couple of my phalaenopsis. I'm sad to say the new plant I got from the grocery store is pretty much dead. it had rotted and the roots look like they're dead too. Don't know why the phalaenopsis aren't doing so well in the semi-hydro medium? The cattleya's, dendrobium, oncidium and even the tolumnia seem to like it. Anyway, the phals are in the new stuff now. I'll keep an eye on it.
I also spent much of the day building more acrylic boxes. got some scrap plastic from Tap Plastics and solvent, glue and more. I think I have a total of 10. they take about 20 minutes each to make.
My window sill looks pretty full.

New Dendrobium, Oncidiums and Tolumnia

This is Tolumnia Popoki 'Red'. It's a real pretty plant, the flowers are actually more magenta-cyclamen in color but it looks red in the photo (probably due to the incandescent light). When I brought it home I broke the flower stem off (oh well) and I put it in a bottle of water so I can photograph it.

The thing is, when I bought this baby off ebay, the seller said it was mounted but when I got it, it was potted. I was hoping for a mounted one but either way, I'm glad I got this tolumnia. I don't know if it will survive thought, thinking about putting it in dyna-rok but not sure if I should? Its in sphagnum moss so I'm guessing the roots are acclimatize to moist conditions?

Milton picked this oncidium up for me from an orchid nursery in Half Moon Bay. It's so cute! He's got himself, I think, a total of three plants. I'm tempted to get more. I'm guessing its an "oncidium ornithorhynchum"... I can't pronounce this last name. I can't stop myself from potting it in a big pot and in dyna-rok. By doing this, the flowers will most likely drop off.
