Reed stem epidendrum!
I bought this reed stem epidendrum at DolphinPetVilliage for $21. I didn't expect to buy it but it has gorgeous red flowers with a tiny bit of yellow. There was another one at the store that was remarkable but I thought I should keep my spending down.
Lovely!
I nearly got into a car accident on the 85. My poor orchid flew out of its seat and onto the car floor, breaking off the flowers you see below. Too bad.

Blooms
I'm liking Edisto Newberry more and more.
I don't remember it being this vivid before.
Purple Phalaenopsis looking good.
White Phal I got from Half-Moon Bay a long time ago.
Good Life is growing weird out of the pot.

Chia Lin & purple cattleya
Chia Lin flowered again. I really need to make sure they get more light at my new house.
The purple is looking lop-sided but I'm happy its flowering again.

Purple cattleya bloomed!
The purple cattleya that I damaged has finally flowered. The petals are a bit warped because it was wedged against two leaves. I freed it but will wait and see if it corrects itself. I missed how pretty it was.

It finally flowered.
After many years, I finally get to see what my Carolina Splendor x Chocolate drop hybrid looks like.

New Year 2011, moving my orchids.
Well, New Year's day and I have started to move my orchid collection to work. I took a few of my Phalaenopsis and placed them on a big window sill near my cubicle, just to see how they will fit in. Next weekend, I'm going to move my entire collection.
I've also been repotting my cattelyas today into Hyrdroton. Grand Dragon, Edisto Newberry (kind of damaged it a bit), Chia Lin among a few. I tried to repot 'Good Life' but its roots were massive (no wonder it flowered every year) and totally holding on to its medium. I couldn't begin to try and pry it loose. It needs to go into a bigger pot but I can't provide that till after I move into my new house. I hope disturbing its roots didn't upset it too much.
